Drilling Services

GMA has experience with many types of drilling techniques including hand auger, hollow-stem auger, mud rotary, air rotary, reverse-circulation mud rotary, rotary sonic and Geoprobe™. GMA employs 4 North Carolina Certified Well Contractors qualified to install and oversee wells of all types. GMA owns 2-inch, 4-inch, and 6-inch diameter stainless steel hand augers for shallow soil sampling and monitoring well installation. We have strong relationships with reputable drilling contractors across North Carolina to meet the mechanical drilling needs of any project. GMA geologists have logged boreholes to depths as great as 1,100 feet. We have successfully installed Type III telescoping monitoring wells in the North Carolina Coastal Plain with outer casings as deep at 120 feet and inner wells as deep as 240 feet.   Top

Computer Modeling of Geological Systems

GMA has extensive experience utilizing Visual MODFLOW, the industry standard for groundwater flow modeling. Our strong commitment to applying computer expertise to find solutions to groundwater problems, is based on the following fundamental concept: Computer models of geological systems should be generated by experienced hydrogeologists who understand, through detailed hydrological investigations, the geological systems they are modeling.
